An economist by profession, as VP at NRDIO Dr István Szabó primarily focuses on the improvement of the national innovation system and is dedicated to making Hungary’s world-class Research-Development-Innovation (RDI)-output visible and accessible on an international level. Dr Szabó’s principal responsibilities include the overseeing and coordination of the national funding system aimed at scientific research and the enhancement of institutional excellence.
Dr Szabó is an active researcher with special emphasis on research infrastructures and the cooperation between domestic and international research facilities.
István is also a lecturer in the field of RDI at a number of higher education institutes like the Budapest Business School and the University of Pannonia.
