Peter joined MOL Group in 2006 and held various positions until 2022 when he joined MOHU, Hungarian waste management coordination company where he is leading Batteries, ELV, WEEE, Household Metals, Metal packing, and Hazardous waste value streams. He is a programmer mathematician and economist, passionate about innovative technologies, quality management, product & service development, and process optimization.
Mr Péter Horváth is the CEO of Dunamenti Power Plant since July 2018, formerly Deputy CEO (from 2015). Before he was Business Development Manager of MET Power Hungary since 2014. He worked as the wholesale director of MET Magyarország between 2012 and 2014. He was formerly employed at the natural-gas branch of MOL in the area of portfolio and business development.
Rene Schroeder, German nationality, works as Executive Director for EUROBAT, the automotive and industrial battery manufacturers association. He previously worked at a European federation in the waste industry and held internships at the European Parliament and Commission, as well as at CEFIC the chemicals industry association. René has a Postgraduate Master in European studies from the College of Europe, in Natolin, Warsaw, Poland and a Master in Political Science from the University of Rostock, Germany.
Csaba kiss is the Deputy CEO, Chief Generation Officer and Chief Nuclear Officer of MVM Hungarian Electricity Ltd. He is holding a Ph.D. degree in Technical Sciences from Vienna University of Technology in Austria, and a MBA degree from Buckinghamshire New University in the UK.
Mr Kiss has a +35 years career in the power generation industry and has solid management and business leadership experience since 1999 as Executive Managing Director and Plant Manager of operating different power plant portfolios and businesses in Hungary and Italy. As a Managing Director he had worked with major multinational integrated utilities (AES and E.ON), and Power Service companies (Alstom and GE).
He was involved in the operation and project development of new nuclear, coal, biomass, oil, gas power plants, co-generation (CHP), CCGT, steam/ranking cycle, gas-motor, wind, hydro and PV power plant technologies as well. Mr Kiss has international working experience conducting business and managing projects in the US, Brazil and Europe.
He is Board Member of FORATOM, Brussels-based trade association for the nuclear energy industry in Europe. He is also the Chairman of the Executive Committee of the Hungarian Nuclear Association, the Vice Chairman of the Executive Committee of COGEN Europe Association, the European Association for the promotion of cogeneration industry in Brussel. He is Vice Chairman (previously Chairman) of the COGEN Hungary Association (MKET), Chairman of the Hungarian Scientific Energy Association of Hungary (ETE) as well as Member of the Wold Nuclear Association (WNA) advisory board.
Joaquim Nunes de Almeida is director in charge of “Mobility and energy intensive industries” at the European Commission in the Directorate-General for Internal Market, Industry, Entrepreneurship and SMEs (DG GROW) since March 2021. This includes raw materials, renewable energy industries and alliances such as hydrogen and solar energy as well as green and circular economy and sustainable product design. Before that, he was director in charge of single market policy (since 2016).
Joaquim started his career at the European Commission in 1995 and has extensive experience in policies related to the internal market and home affairs (police cooperation, terrorism, law enforcement, asylum and immigration).
He studied law and worked as a lawyer at the Bar of Lisbon, Portugal, from 1989 to 1994, dealing mainly with anti-trust law as well as commercial and civil law.
Mina is a Senior Research Analyst at Rho Motion reading the battery recycling studies, the Battery Recycling Quarterly Outlook and Monthly Battery Recycling Assessment, and also works on battery recycling consulting projects. Prior to joining Rho Motion, she was an IT and energy analyst, mainly working on semiconductor and photovoltaic energy consulting projects. Mina holds a Master’s Degree in Economics from the Royal Holloway University of London.
Maroš Šefčovič is a Slovak diplomat and politician serving as the Vice-President of the European Commission for Inter-institutional Relations and Foresight, coordinating the Energy Union (EU Battery Alliance). From 2010 to 2014, he was the European Commissioner for Interinstitutional Relations and Administration, and for Energy from 2014 to 2019. He stood for office in the 2019 Slovak presidential election.
His area of responsibility includes leading the Energy Union, establishing a European Energy Union by connecting infrastructures, enforcing legislation and increasing competition to help drive down costs for citizens and businesses and boost growth, working to prevent energy shortages, diversifying sources of energy imports and ensuring a united European voice in negotiations to improve our energy security, helping to mobilise additional investment in power grids, renewable energy installations and other energy infrastructure, improving energy efficiency, and coordinating the Commission’s efforts to ensure the EU reaches its climate and energy targets for 2020 and 2030.
Born in Naples in 1978, graduated in Economics by Federico II University, finalized his specialized studies first with a Corporate Banking Master in SDA Bocconi and later with an additional specialistic PhD in New Banking & Entrepreneurship with Udine Faculty and Cassamarca foundation.
After several working experience both in consulting and accounting, he started in 2003 his career within UniCredit Group in the newly Corporate Bank in different commercial oriented roles in various Italian regions. After 7 years started an international path which bring him first in Wien in CEE Division covering role of Country Manager for 4 banks of the Group (such as Serbia, Bulgaria, Bosnia and Romania). Later he took over the International Corporate client’s coverage for the Romanian subsidiary before moving, in 2019, in Hungary where is currently Managing Director – Head of International & Multinational Corporate customers and member of Extended Management Board of the local bank.
He covered also the role of Italian desk deals coordinator in CEE Division for all outbound Italian business in Central Eastern Europe and he was active board member for more than 3 years of Italian-Romanian Chamber of Commerce. Besides Italian, he is fluent in English and French.
Robert (Bob) L. Galyen, age 67, is recognized as one of the top executives in the battery energy storage world and within science/engineering-based communities. He is a highly sought-after public speaker as a subject matter expert. His positions as CTO of CATL (the world’s largest battery manufacturer), Chairman of SAE International Battery Standards Steering Committee, also an SAE Fellow, Chairman Emeritus and CTO of NAATbatt International, provides him a unique leadership perspective in the global battery industry. His degrees in chemistry and biology, along with decades of engineering experience and executive roles, provides him a unique view in a leadership or consulting role in cross functional technology areas. He has patents, publications and participates on multiple BOD’s and TAB’s. The 46 years’ international work experience has given him a visionary perspective on worldwide business, making him uniquely qualified as a global energy storage and scientific/engineering community thought leader. His manufacturing experience qualifies him as one of the top Lithium-Ion Battery producers (CATL) and Lead Acid Battery producers (Delco Remy Division of GM) in the world. He presently works with over 8 different battery systems in his consulting roles. Bob is married with 3 children and 8 grandchildren.
