András Tótth has nearly 25 years of experience in the energy sector. He began his career as an energy consultant at Boston Consulting Group, where he worked on strategic projects related to the liberalization of the Hungarian energy market. He subsequently held several senior positions at E.ON Földgáz Group, including Head of Regulatory Affairs and member of the Board responsible for sales.
Between 2015 and 2017, he served as Deputy CEO for Strategy at MVM Zrt., where he was responsible for the company’s strategic development and business development activities. He subsequently worked as a consultant and, between 2022 and 2026, served as Deputy CEO for Strategy at 8G Energy, where he oversaw the company’s strategic and business development activities.
In May 2026, he was appointed State Secretary for Energy at the Ministry of Economy and Energy. His responsibilities include overseeing energy policy, security of supply, electricity and natural gas market regulation, coordinating energy efficiency programmes, and supervising the development of energy infrastructure.
