Anita Simon is the Deputy CEO for Sustainability and Circular Economy of the ALTEO Group, the first company in the Hungarian energy market to obtain an international ESG certification. Within the ALTEO Group, Anita is responsible for the areas of sustainability, circular economy, waste management and e-mobility. Her main task is to enforce the ESG-based approach and sustainability principles in ALTEO's business decisions. She is committed to a green approach and a value-oriented way of thinking.
Anita gained experience in foreign trade and procurement starting her career in agriculture and in the feed industry. Afterwards she has been dealing with waste management, which is now not only her job, but also her passion.
She is credited with the idea of Hungary's first biogas conference, but is also a member of the board of the National Biomethane-Biogas Green Energy Industry Association and the Budapest Global Association. She is the only Hungarian invitee to the European Investment Bank Group's EU Women Climate Leaders Network, which brings together sustainability experts from different industries across the 27 EU Member States to support the EU's regulatory and investment agenda with competitive solutions to the challenges of the green transition.
Since 10th January, 2024 she is Board Member of the National Biomethane- Biogas Green Energy Industry Association. On the other hand she is member of the The Business Council of Sustainable Development in Hungary (BCSDH).
She holds degrees from the Faculty of Business and Agriculture of Szent István University in Hungary and from Anglia Ruskin University and is a supporter, ambassador and advisory board member of the Budapest Festival Orchestra.
